Strawberry Creek Restoration DeCal

Opportunities to learn about Strawberry Creek histories, the historical ecology of the watershed, urban creek ecology, native and invasive species, leading creek caretaking efforts, evaluating creek health, urban water infrastructure, designing creek-related environmental education materials for the public, native plant collection and propagation, and maintaining the Strawberry Creek Native Plant Nursery and Native Plant Garden, as you participate in community-based urban ecological restoration!

The Strawberry Creek Restoration DeCal was awarded a TGIF mini-grant ( http://tgifberkeley.com/blog/tgif-awards-mini-grants-to-ten-projects/ ) to fund efforts to restore a California grassland in the Grinnell Natural Area on campus and to restore a denuded bank on Strawberry Creek’s north fork.

We will be collaborating with Professor Katharine Suding’s ESPM 187: Restoration Ecology course and volunteers led by the student-group Strawberry Creek Collective on these efforts.

Field trips, restoration events, art, writing, and more!
