In Assignment 2 you will need to use the bay.csv file with rental listings from the San Francisco Bay Area. Run the cleanup and geocoding to add census block that is covered in today's session and notebook, and generate a series of maps that you post on your wordpress blog.
The first series of maps are point maps using all of the valid rental listings from the 9-County Bay Area. Filter out missing values and extreme rents that appear to be anomalies. Make point maps for rents of one-bedroom listings, and for two-bedroom listings. Do maps also for rent per square foot for one bedroom, and two bedroom listings.
Now repeat the process, but aggregating the rental listings to the census tract level and mapping the median rents for one and two bedroom listings as choroplethic (thematic, shaded) maps on tract polygons. Do the same for rents per square foot for one and two bedroom listings.
Write a short description of the basic patterns you observe. Are there any anomalies or surprises in the patterns? Suggestions for generating more insight into these patterns?
