Welcome to ED140AC!

Below you'll find all of the info you need to get started in our class. Please read each item carefully.

1. Each week you will work through a number of activities, videos, and readings. Everything for the week is organized on the corresponding Page for that week.

Go to Modules to access the Weekly Activity Pages

2. You should complete the Inspire activity and the Explore activity before your Thursday section meeting each week.

3. You should complete the remaining activities by Sunday at Midnight. Please note that some of these activities are collaborative and ask you to interact and participate with other students in our class. The activities are designed to give your GSI a sense that you understand the material, and for you to connect with your peers in creatively exploring the material and reflecting on your fieldwork. It's important to submit your weekly activities on time.

4. All of the course materials are organized in the Asset Library by hashtags and keywords. Use advanced filters (uploader, category) to search the Asset Library efficiently.

When you upload materials to the Asset Library, be sure to include the week's Category and related hashtags in the description.

5. For the PDFs of readings in the Asset Library, in the bottom-right you will find Source. Click the link to access the PDF from the Library.

6. The Engagement Index keeps track of your online activities and contributions in the course.

7. Be sure to watch the Whiteboards tutorial so that you are aware of all of the Whiteboards features. You are always free to complete an assignment with a different tool.

8. You are required to complete 8 field notes during the semester about your field work with kids. (We'll explain exactly what the field notes should be like. ) You will want to write your field note as soon after your site visit as possible, when you can remember the most about your interactions with kids on site. It's OK to submit field notes before the due date, but don't fall behind.

9. If you find something provocative or interesting in a reading or a video or an asset, or if you don't understand something, post a question/comment or start a discussion thread.

10. Engage with your classmates and learn from each other.
