Think of an idea you or someone else has already had for a smart product for this class - feel free to use the one from your brainstorm during the first week of class, or maybe one you are currently considering in your project teams. Describe the potential product in 2-3 sentences.
Then analyze your idea according to the framework from these two readings:
1) integration of functions
For each dimension, discuss potential strengths and weaknesses, and how you might change the product idea to mitigate the weaknesses. For example: "We envisioned a smart crepe maker where you select your cooking options from a smartphone. This product has poor integration of functions - it's a single purpose device. Instead, we might broaden the definition to smart cookware that can make many recipes, including crepes. A major security concern is that vulnerabilities could lead to remote control of the heating element, which could lead to kitchen fires. etc etc."
