Codio

This course uses the Codio IDE for the programming assignments—also called CHIPS (coding/hands-on integrated projects). The textbook is also available on Codio, via the links in this course.

Access

  • The first time you log into Codio, you will be prompted to pay a $30 fee.
  • Make sure you access the programming assignments by signing into bCourses first, then following the link to Codio. If you instead try to sign into Codio directly, your assignment grades won’t be properly recorded and you won’t get credit.
  • You access Codio (and pay the fee) at the following link (the first part of Chapter 1 of the textbook):

Navigating Codio

  • Move between Codio pages by using the navigation buttons (< >) at the top of the page, or the Next button at the bottom of the page.
  • Once you have completed a programming assignment, make sure to "Mark as Completed." You MUST do this to submit your assignment for grading. See the Codio docs on Completing Assignments Links to an external site. for more details.
(It is not necessary to mark the textbook readings as complete, but you can do to track your progress through the chapters from within Codio.)
