  1. 2024-2025 Professional Standards and Ethics Course for GSIs

This course must be completed before the GSIs interact with students for the first time online or in person. I have found it useful as an assignment in my 375 class to have students create a Google doc (organized by ethics course module) with questions they have after completing the course. We then have a discussion of these questions in class. While you are welcome to take the course through bCourses, you can also review pdfs of the five course modules on the webpage for 375 instructors.

  1. Other Resources

The Teaching Guide for GSIs addresses a broad range of topics from teaching discussion sections and labs to creating and using grading rubrics and working with student writing. Some instructors use the Teaching Guide as a transdisciplinary resource to complement the discipline-specific readings they assign in their courses.
