McCullough (1996) said that the hands are “the most subtle, sensitive, probing, differentiated, and the most closely connected to the mind. They deserve to be admired.” McCullough also argued that “the computer is inherently a tool for the mind and not for the hands.” It’s been 20 years since his argument. Have you encountered any UIs that address McCullough’s points? If yes, describe the UI and how it is differentiated. If not, think of one that might come close and describe how you might redesign it so that it becomes closer to McCullough’s vision.
