Access Zoom via bCourses
To access Zoom, click on Zoom in the left navigation bar.
Zoom in bCourses is visible to students, as well as instructors and GSIs.
Students can join a Zoom meeting scheduled using the bCourses integration:
- Through the Zoom menu item in the course navigation
- Via the event on their bCourses calendar
- Via the link included in the email notification that is sent at the time that a meeting is scheduled
When you click on Zoom, you will see a button that says "Authenticate." Click on the button to authenticate your account. You will be asked to authenticate your account every time you use Zoom in bCourses.
Once you click "Authenticate," you will be asked to confirm that you are authorizing bCourses to use the Zoom application. Confirm that the email address shown matches your official Berkeley email address. If it does, click "Authorize."
Now you are in the Zoom section of bCourses. You will see a list of tabs dividing your meetings into Upcoming Meetings, Previous Meetings, Personal Meeting Room, and Cloud Recordings.
You also can access your Personal Meeting Room from bCourses. A personal meeting room is a stable link that is not tied to specific date or time. This is different than the link that is generated when you schedule a meeting, which is tied to the specific day and time.
If you would like to adjust your personal room settings, you can download the Zoom app Links to an external site. and adjust there or login to your account via the Berkeley Zoom Links to an external site. website. You cannot adjust your personal room settings via bCourses. You will also need to use the Zoom app or website to create private meetings for individual students. Meetings generated via the bCourse integration will be available to all students in the course.
