Poster session!
- Due No Due Date
- Points 0
- Submitting a website url or a file upload
The poster session will be held during normal class time (10:10-11:30am) in a location in Soda Hall TBD, most likely one of the elevator lobbies on floor 4, 5, or 6. We will send announcements around to invite students and faculty to chat with you about your projects!
Making a poster (content): Since you'll be standing by your poster to explain it, focus on screenshots/graphics and bullet points—minimal text. Useful elements include:
- Prominent placement of which course(s) your exercises are targeting, and what types of skills in those courses
- Screenshots of your question, ideally showing how randomization happens, how autograding feedback looks, etc.
- Any preliminary results from your study, e.g. in graph or histogram form, or a few text bullets about students' reactions (from the interviews, if they were part of your study)
- More poster advice in the lecture slides in this module.
Making a poster (mechanics): We have a plotter that can print your large-format poster, and we will have available poster boards, clips to hold your poster on the board, and easels. We will have these available at the start of the poster session and it should only take you a few minutes to set up.
We can print your poster: Use PowerPoint to make a single large slide that is 30"x40" (either landscape or portrait is OK). Try to avoid using exotic fonts that may not be embedded in the document. Name the file according to your project, and upload both the PPTX file and a PDF file to this folder Links to an external site. (UC Berkeley credentials required) before 11:59pm Tuesday 4/25. (After that date we may be unable to print for you and you'll have to do it yourself, which is a pain.) The poster will be waiting for you at the beginning of the poster session. Once we've printed your poster, we cannot reprint revised versions, so please make sure the version you upload is final.
